Senators 8-1-1 in last 10 games
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) -- Jason Spezza scored at 2:46 in overtime,
lifting the Ottawa Senators over the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 Friday night in
the exhibition opener for both teams.
Spezza took a feed from winger Marian Hossa and beat Sabres goalie Ryan
Miller for the winner.
Ottawa winger Jody Hull opened the scoring 1:49 into the game off a
behind-the-net feed from center Shaun Van Allen.
The Sabres tied it at 7:23 of the second period when defenseman Henrik
Tallinder's slap shot beat Senators goalie Martin Prusek.
Hossa and Sabres center Paul Gaustad traded third-period goals, with
Hossa ripping a shot over Miller's glove at 3:07 and Gaustad sliding
the puck under Ottawa goalie Billy Thompson 52 seconds later.
