End of CEL Season
Sorry for the lack of updates lately, the flu got me.
Basic stats from the final four games of the regular season for the Extraliga are above, full stats here. Hana sent some lovely pictures from the Vsetin game, but I'm still sort of feeling like I got hit by a truck so they won't be up for a couple of days. During that game, Marty got some strange penalty I couldn't identify -- I think some kind of problem with his equipment -- and the folks who do the online commentary seemed to joke that it was for having bad hair. I'm sure someone will be happy to clear this up for me...
In the game against Karlovy Vary, Marty got an early penalty for high sticking and then later a 5 minute major for slashing and a game misconduct.
In both 7-3 games, Havlat netted the game winner, but with scores like that it's kind of irrelevant, isn't it? All in all, it looks like he's heading into the Extraliga playoffs in good form. Sparta finished second overall, and will be playing Vitkovice in the first round, starting March 4th.
Oh, and Marty was up for Golden Helmet (sort of a play of the week) voting a couple of weeks ago. I believe his undressing of Pardubice goaltender Jan Lasak came in third (of six), and you can see it here.

His helmet fell off and he continued playing without putting it back on. I don't know how about NHL, but you get penalized for stuff like that here. The commentator said that the conservative Sweddish referee didn't like Havlat's extravagant hairstyle. :))
